aap mining children for profit

Story at-a-glance

  • The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is heavily funded by pharmaceutical companies, influencing policies that promote more medical interventions for children while reducing parental control
  • The AAP’s top priority is to eliminate parental authority over childhood vaccination decisions, replacing it with state or provider control
  • Major child health issues like rising obesity, increasing autism rates, and chronic illness prevention are absent from the AAP’s top 10 priorities
  • The AAP uses rare measles outbreaks to justify removing personal and religious vaccine exemptions, despite measles mortality already being near zero before mass vaccination began
  • Ignoring preventive strategies, the AAP’s approach sets children up for lifelong dependence on pharmaceutical products rather than building lasting health

In North America, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) holds enormous influence over how children’s medical care is shaped. Its public positions and policy priorities steer the direction of pediatric practice, often setting the tone for what’s considered standard care. What’s less visible is how those priorities are formed, and how the balance between child health, industry interests, and parental authority is struck.

Over the past several decades, the health landscape for children has shifted dramatically, with chronic illness becoming far more common. Yet the way the AAP addresses these changes reveals as much about its focus as it does about what it leaves out. By examining what the organization elevates — and what it avoids — it becomes clear how policy direction affects the day-to-day decisions parents face.

This isn’t just about medical recommendations; it’s about the framework that decides whether prevention, treatment, or industry-driven measures take center stage. The details of the AAP’s own published priorities show where the balance tips, and why the very first item on their list directly impacts your ability to make informed choices for your child.

AAP’s Priorities Reveal a Profound Shift Away from Parental Rights

The AAP is structured to prioritize its members’ income over children’s well-being, according to David Bell, senior scholar at Brownstone Institute and a former medical officer and scientist at the World Health Organization (WHO).1 The published article by the Brownstone Institute outlines how the AAP’s top priority is to remove parents from decision-making about whether their children receive certain medical procedures, especially vaccinations.

With 67,000 members in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, the AAP’s influence is enormous. Its funding from pharmaceutical companies like Moderna, Merck, Sanofi, and GlaxoSmithKline creates a direct financial link between the organization’s policy positions and industry profit.

• The organization’s published priorities reveal striking omissions that directly affect children’s health outcomes — Among its top 10 goals, the AAP does not address three of the most urgent and widely discussed issues affecting children today: increasing obesity, the autism epidemic, and the overall rise in chronic illness.

While these problems are acknowledged elsewhere by the AAP, the focus is on managing — not preventing — them. This means that as a parent, you’re unlikely to see the organization push for real, root-cause solutions that would improve your child’s long-term health.

• Its strategy aligns with creating lifelong pharmaceutical customers rather than fostering lifelong health — The article points out that promoting chronic illness in children nearly guarantees those conditions will persist into adulthood, ensuring ongoing revenue for drug manufacturers. This isn’t simply a byproduct of flawed policy — it’s an outcome that benefits the same corporations funding the AAP.

• The AAP’s stance on bodily autonomy erodes long-standing human rights norms — The group operates on the view that personal medical decisions should be subordinate to state requirements or a doctor’s orders, even when those orders involve products the doctor is financially incentivized to promote.

This approach mirrors early 20th-century technocracy and medical authoritarianism, where “experts” made health care decisions without patient consent. For you, this translates into diminished control over your child’s body and health choices.

• Their vaccine policies ignore the reality of already low measles mortality before mass vaccination began — In the U.S. and other wealthy nations, nearly all measles-related deaths had already ended before the introduction of mass vaccination programs. Improved nutrition, especially in micronutrients, was likely the key factor. This is important context, because it challenges the AAP’s justification for overriding parental choice based on rare outbreaks.

Financial Influence Drives Pediatric Policy Choices

When an organization receives funding from companies whose business model depends on high product use, the policies it produces will often reflect those companies’ commercial priorities. In this case, it means promoting more pharmaceutical interventions for children, removing parental veto power, and ignoring preventive health strategies that would reduce dependency on medical products.

• AAP uses selective statistics to justify eliminating exemptions — Dr. Jesse Hackell, chair of the AAP’s Committee on Pediatric Workforce, cited the deaths of two children in recent years from measles to argue for removing personal choice.

The article stresses that claiming vaccines are “safe” without acknowledging that they carry risks and cause adverse effects is “a stupid claim in medicine and biology.” For you as a parent, this means policy decisions are being made using emotionally charged but statistically rare events, rather than a balanced risk-benefit analysis.

• Religious and cultural objections to certain vaccines are dismissed outright — Many parents have concerns about vaccines developed using cells from induced abortions, yet the AAP officially supports overriding these objections. This disregard for moral or cultural beliefs signals that your deeply held values could be deemed irrelevant in decisions about your child’s care.

• The broader impact is a public health model that treats children as a market, not individuals — The AAP’s actions align less with science-based health care and more with marketing strategies for an expanding pediatric pharmaceutical market. If these priorities succeed, future generations of children will grow up in an environment where medical compliance is enforced, personal choice is diminished, and preventive care is sidelined.

• AAP’s published priorities are a direct signal of where pediatric care is headed — Unless challenged, these policies could mean fewer rights for parents, greater exposure of children to medical interventions without your consent, and an ongoing neglect of prevention-focused health care. Understanding this shift is the first step in protecting your ability to make informed decisions for your child’s long-term well-being.

Practical Steps to Protect Your Child’s Health and Your Right to Decide

When an influential organization pushes policies that remove your voice from your child’s health care, the most effective way to respond is by addressing the root of the problem — both the health risks to your child and the erosion of your authority as a parent. Your goal is twofold: keep your child healthy so they’re less likely to need chronic medical interventions, and take deliberate steps to protect your ability to make informed decisions about their care.

1. Build your child’s health from the inside out — Focus on a diet and lifestyle that supports strong immunity and balanced development. Limit ultraprocessed foods, eliminate vegetable oils, and replace them with nutrient-rich fats like tallow, ghee, or grass fed butter.

Prioritize whole fruits, root vegetables, and quality proteins such as grass fed beef and pastured eggs. A strong nutritional foundation, along with regular daily movement, sound sleep, and stress management, reduces the likelihood your child will need long-term pharmaceutical treatments.

2. Stay informed about medical products and policies — Read the actual policy statements from organizations like the AAP rather than relying on summaries in the media. If you’re a parent who wants full knowledge of what’s being recommended for your child, you need to know exactly what is on the priority list — and what’s missing. Understanding the gaps, such as ignoring obesity or autism prevention, helps you spot when an agenda is driven by profit instead of health.

3. Document your decisions and communicate them clearly — Keep written records of your preferences regarding your child’s care, including your stance on specific medical interventions. If you’re enrolling your child in school or a new activity, provide those documents in advance. This ensures there is no confusion about your expectations and puts your position on record before issues arise.

4. Address chronic illness risks early and naturally — If your child is showing signs of early health problems — such as excess weight gain, fatigue, or developmental concerns — intervene now with lifestyle changes. Increase daily activity, ensure regular outdoor time for sun exposure, and create a consistent sleep routine. By preventing or reversing early issues without medicalizing them, you reduce the likelihood of your child becoming dependent on ongoing drug-based treatments.

5. Engage in local and state-level advocacy — Join parent groups or community organizations that support medical freedom and parental rights. If you’re concerned about policies being pushed at the legislative level, showing up at school board meetings or contacting lawmakers directly is one of the most effective ways to make your voice heard. Organized, informed parents are far more difficult for institutions to ignore.

FAQs About the AAP

Q: What is the main concern with the AAP?

A: The AAP has shifted its focus away from prevention and root-cause solutions for children’s health, prioritizing policies that remove parental authority over medical decisions — especially vaccinations — while receiving funding from major pharmaceutical companies.

Q: Why does the AAP’s funding matter for parents?

A: When an organization is funded by companies that profit from more medical interventions, its policy positions often align with increasing the use of those products. This means parents are more likely to face pressure to comply with recommendations that benefit industry rather than focusing on long-term health outcomes for their children.

Q: What important child health issues are missing from the AAP’s top priorities?

A: The AAP’s published priority list leaves out major public health concerns like rising childhood obesity, increasing autism rates, and the broader epidemic of chronic illness. These omissions suggest a lack of interest in prevention-focused health care strategies.

Q: How does the AAP justify removing parental choice on vaccines?

A: The AAP cites rare measles outbreaks and isolated cases of death to argue for eliminating personal, cultural, or religious exemptions, despite the fact that measles mortality in the U.S. had already dropped to near zero before mass vaccination programs began.

Q: What can parents do to protect their rights and their children’s health?

A: Parents can strengthen their child’s health through nutrition and lifestyle choices, stay informed on medical policies, document care preferences, address health risks early with natural approaches, and participate in local or state advocacy to protect medical decision-making authority.

zinc childhood asthma

Story at-a-glance

  • Childhood asthma affects 4.6 million U.S. kids, and research now shows zinc deficiency drives more inflammation, worse lung function, and greater breathing problems
  • Zinc strengthens airway barriers, trains immune cells, reduces allergic inflammation, and helps repair tissues, making it central to protecting children against worsening asthma symptoms
  • A review in Nutrients found zinc deficiency in children consistently linked to more severe asthma and allergic rhinitis, with greater benefits when levels were restored
  • A large U.S. analysis showed overweight children eating more zinc-rich foods had up to 29% lower odds of asthma and fewer attacks compared to peers
  • Zinc works best when sourced from whole foods like beef, lamb, oysters, and eggs, with supplements serving only as a backup when your diet falls short

Asthma is one of the most common chronic diseases in children, characterized by wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that 4.6 million children in America are currently living with asthma, making it a leading cause of missed school days and hospital visits.1

However, asthma is not just a breathing problem — it involves chronic inflammation of the airways that leaves the lungs hypersensitive to allergens, pollutants, and infections. This disease is deeply tied to a child’s immune system, and when it comes to optimal immunity, one of the key nutrients that you need is zinc.

Recent studies point to how having low levels of zinc correlates with more severe asthma. This brings forward an important question. Could improving zinc intake help children gain better control of this disease?

Zinc’s Multifaceted Role in the Body

Zinc is an essential mineral found throughout your body’s organs, tissues, and fluids. It’s the second-most abundant mineral in your body next to iron. Your muscles, bones, liver, and skin all need zinc to function optimally — it’s actually involved in “over 300 enzyme-mediated reactions, gene transcription, and protein structure.”2 Here are some of zinc’s important functions:

• Protects your cells from free radicals — Zinc works within the redox cycle, where it competes with metals like iron and copper to limit the creation of most damaging free radicals, preventing unnecessary harm to your cells.

• Acts as a coenzyme for copper-zinc superoxide dismutase — This antioxidant enzyme stops fats in your cell membranes from breaking down (lipid peroxidation), keeping inflammation in check and tissues healthier.

• Supports the thymus gland — Zinc keeps thymulin, a hormone in the thymus, at healthy levels, which allows T cells to mature properly. T cells are the immune system’s frontline soldiers, and without zinc, they don’t develop as they should.

This lack of development pushes the immune system toward what’s called a Th2-dominant state. To put it simply, this means your body reacts to harmless triggers — like dust or pollen — as if they were dangerous, sparking allergic inflammation.

• Influences other key immune players — It regulates group 2 innate lymphoid cells, which are important in managing asthma and allergies. Zinc also keeps dendritic cells, which decide whether to spark or tolerate an immune reaction, balanced.

• Acts like a shield for your body’s barriers — It keeps the epithelial lining, the thin layer of cells that covers your airways and skin, strong and intact. It does this by stabilizing proteins called tight junctions that hold cells together, creating a protective wall. When zinc is lacking, that wall weakens, and allergens or irritants can slip through more easily, leading to chronic inflammation and hypersensitivity.

• Supports apoptosis (programmed cell death) — By doing so, zinc helps prevent unnecessary cell loss and ensures tissues repair effectively. It allows the body to heal from oxidative stress or toxic exposures without spiraling into chronic damage. This protective role highlights why zinc is so important in preventing atopy, the genetic tendency to develop allergic conditions like asthma, eczema, and hay fever.

However, your body has no way to store zinc long-term; this means you have to constantly get it from your diet. Without a steady daily supply, you risk falling short and becoming zinc-deficient. For children dealing with asthma, this deficiency could be an important reason why their symptoms worsen.

Zinc’s Link to Childhood Asthma Becomes Clearer

A recent literature review published in Nutrients gathered evidence on how zinc influences childhood asthma and allergic rhinitis. It highlights this nutrient’s effects on oxidative stress and immune balance, and why it could be the missing piece in children’s asthma care.3

The researchers analyzed both observational and interventional studies to determine how zinc — along with other nutrients — shapes the severity of symptoms, lung function, and even the long-term outlook for airway health.

“Trace elements like zinc and iron, and vitamins like A, C, and D, can alter the immune response and enhance the body’s antioxidant capacity. These are often deficient in children suffering from atopy, with zinc and vitamin A deficiency linked to airway inflammation,” an article in News-Medical.net reports.4

• What defines zinc deficiency? Certain factors affect zinc levels, such as age, gender, inflammation, and individual body rhythms. However, the levels are different between adults and children. In children 10 years old and below, this is defined as having zinc levels below 70 µg/dL in males and 66 µg/dL in females. Meanwhile, adults are considered zinc-deficient if they have levels below 74 µg/dL (males) and 70 µg/dL (females).5

• Children living with asthma and allergies formed the focus of this research — In these groups, zinc deficiency was consistently associated with more severe disease. These children appear to have worse lung function, higher oxidative stress, and more frequent breathing issues. And even though zinc deficiency was not always “severe enough” to meet the lab cutoffs used in adults, the children still experienced worse outcomes when their zinc levels ran low.

• One striking finding was the effect of zinc on allergic rhinitis — Children with this condition were more likely to have swollen nasal tissues and lower zinc levels in their blood. Interestingly, during acute allergy flare-ups, zinc levels in the mucosa (the lining inside the nose) actually increased, hinting that zinc shifts to the site of inflammation. This redistribution indicates that zinc is actively pulled into the tissues where it is needed most, leaving less circulating in the bloodstream.

• Zinc status also matters during the developmental stage — The researchers noted that when mothers had adequate zinc during pregnancy, their children had better lung function and a lower risk of developing asthma, proving that zinc’s role starts even before a child is born.

• The most significant improvements were observed in kids with lower zinc levels to begin with — This suggests that zinc supplementation offers the biggest payoff when deficiency is present. In other words, if your child already eats plenty of zinc-rich foods like beef, lamb, or shellfish, supplementation might not create dramatic changes. But if their diet lacks these foods, the difference in breathing and recovery could be much more noticeable.

• The delivery method also affects the outcome — While some trials found zinc supplementation led to improvements, others reported little change. These inconsistencies were often due to variations in dosage, duration, or even whether the zinc was given orally or intranasally.

This research made one thing clear: Zinc deficiency is not just a side note in asthma care; it’s a driver of worse symptoms, more inflammation, and weaker immune control. For children struggling with breathing problems, ensuring adequate zinc intake offers a practical way to support recovery and resilience alongside conventional treatments. And in asthmatic children dealing with other health conditions like obesity, optimizing levels of this nutrient becomes even more important.

Zinc Shows Protective Effects in Overweight Children with Asthma

A 2024 cross-sectional analysis published in the World Allergy Organization Journal investigated how dietary zinc intake influences asthma in overweight and obese children and adolescents. The researchers used data from the U.S. National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) between 2011 and 2020 to determine whether children struggling with both excess weight and asthma had lower zinc intake compared to their healthier peers.6

• The study analyzed 4,597 overweight or obese children and adolescents under 20 years old — Of this population, 963 have asthma. After adjusting for confounding factors, the researchers discovered that higher zinc intake consistently correlated with a reduced asthma risk.

• The researchers divided the participants based on their dietary zinc intake — Four groups were created, based on the lowest to highest intake. Compared to the lowest intake group, children in the second quartile had 22% lower odds of asthma, while those in the third quartile had 24% lower odds. Those in the fourth quartile had 29% lower odds.

• This connection held even after adjusting for asthma treatments — Children with higher zinc intake also had fewer recent asthma attacks, strengthening the case that zinc isn’t just about long-term risk but could also make day-to-day management easier.

• Sensitivity analyses (tests that check whether findings hold under different assumptions) confirmed the results — However, because the study was cross-sectional, it cannot prove that zinc intake directly prevents asthma; only that the two are strongly linked. Even so, it strengthens the notion that improving zinc intake is a safe and low-cost step that supports a child’s health. According to the researchers:

“Our findings align with existing research, even if the precise mechanisms by which zinc influences asthma in overweight or obese individuals remain incompletely known. Zinc, recognized for its antioxidant properties, contributes to diminishing oxidative stress through a variety of mechanisms.”7

• Zinc does not act in isolation — A separate 2024 study published in the World Journal of Clinical Pediatrics looked at how zinc levels and other related blood markers affect asthma symptoms. The researchers found that ferritin, a protein that stores iron, was significantly higher in asthmatic children as well.

Zinc and ferritin work in a web of immune responses. When ferritin rises due to inflammation, zinc’s role in balancing oxidative stress and supporting immune cells becomes even more important.8

Overall, these studies prove that nutrition is not just background noise in asthma care — it plays a measurable role. As News-Medicat.net concludes:

“These results emphasize the importance of considering nutritional factors in asthma management and warrant further research into the therapeutic potential of zinc supplementation. Future studies using prospective cohort designs and randomized controlled trials may shed further light on the causal effect of dietary zinc intake on alleviating asthma in this population.”9

Practical Steps to Address Zinc Deficiency in Childhood Asthma

If your child is struggling with asthma, it’s important to go beyond just treating the symptoms. The real problem often starts with inflammation and an overactive immune response. Zinc plays a key role in calming that inflammation, strengthening airway barriers, and keeping the immune system balanced. Here are five practical steps for you to take to help optimize their zinc levels:

1. Make zinc-rich foods part of your daily meals — The most reliable way to improve zinc intake is through food. Focus on meats like grass fed beef and lamb, along with seafood such as oysters or shrimp (derived from safe, clean sources). These foods give your child zinc in a form the body uses easily.

Pastured eggs, beans, and lentils also provide zinc, but know that the zinc they provide isn’t absorbed as efficiently. Adding vitamin C-rich foods like fruit at the same meal helps your body use zinc from plants better.

2. Minimize ultraprocessed and junk foods from their diet — Processed meals often contain seed oils and additives that irritate the body and make asthma symptoms harder to manage. In addition, while zinc is often used in breakfast cereals and other packaged fortified foods, I recommend avoiding these products. You will do far better by consuming the whole-food sources of zinc noted above.

3. Support your child during allergy seasons — If your child deals with allergies alongside asthma, know that their zinc gets pulled into inflamed tissues, especially in the nose and lungs. During high-pollen seasons, make sure meals are packed with zinc-rich options every day. If you’re already doing this, pay attention to whether your child still experiences worsening symptoms — this is often a sign that zinc needs to be boosted even further.

4. Don’t forget about pregnancy and early life nutrition — Adequate zinc intake during pregnancy helps shape your baby’s immune system and reduces their risk of developing asthma later. Focus on whole foods like meats, seafood, and eggs during pregnancy and breastfeeding to give your child the strongest start possible.

5. Use supplementation strategically if diet alone falls short — Always match supplementation with food-based sources so you aren’t relying on pills alone. Think of zinc supplements as a backup, not the foundation.

By addressing zinc deficiency head-on, you’re not just helping manage asthma flare-ups — you’re giving your child stronger immune defenses, healthier lung function, and better recovery when challenges arise.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) About Zinc for Childhood Asthma

Q: Why is zinc important for children with asthma?

A: Zinc plays several key roles in protecting your child’s airways. It helps immune cells mature properly, reduces allergic inflammation, and strengthens the barriers that line the lungs. Zinc also supports tissue repair, so the body recovers better after flare-ups. Without enough zinc, your child’s immune system is more likely to overreact to harmless triggers like dust or pollen, making asthma symptoms worse.

Q: How common is asthma in children?

A: Asthma is one of the most widespread chronic conditions in children today. The CDC reports that 4.6 million children in the United States are currently living with asthma. It isn’t just about wheezing or shortness of breath — it’s also a major reason kids miss school and need urgent medical care, putting stress on both children and families.

Q: What does the research say about zinc and asthma?

A: Several studies have found that zinc deficiency is linked to more severe asthma symptoms. Kids with lower zinc levels often have poorer lung function, higher oxidative stress, and more frequent breathing issues. On the other hand, children who consume more zinc-rich foods are less likely to suffer attacks, and overweight children with higher zinc intake showed up to a 29% lower risk of asthma in one U.S. study.

Q: What foods provide the best sources of zinc?

A: The most effective sources of zinc are whole foods like beef, lamb, oysters, shrimp, and eggs. These give zinc in a form the body absorbs easily. Plant-based foods like beans and lentils also contain zinc, though less is absorbed. Pairing these with vitamin C-rich foods, like fruits, can help improve absorption. Relying less on processed or fortified foods and more on whole-food options is the best way to keep zinc levels healthy.

Q: Should I give my child zinc supplements for asthma?

A: Supplements are helpful mainly when there is a real deficiency or when diet falls short. The biggest improvements in breathing and recovery are usually seen in kids who start out with low zinc levels. Whole foods are ideally the foundation, with supplements acting as a backup if needed. Even then, it’s important to be consistent and combine them with good dietary habits for the best results.

merck rsv shot risks for babies

Story at-a-glance

  • Merck’s respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) shot clesrovimab (Enflonsia) was approved even though 11.71% of babies in the trial experienced serious adverse events, including seizures, brain injury, and death
  • Infants who got clesrovimab had a 350% higher risk of upper respiratory infections — exactly the type of illness this shot claims to prevent
  • The injection is given in a single, fixed dose regardless of infant weight, putting smaller, younger babies at greater risk due to disproportionately high exposure
  • Babies who received the shot had a threefold increase in severe neurological reactions compared to those given a placebo
  • Only about 25 babies in the U.S. succumb to RSV each year, making the known risks of clesrovimab far outweigh the threat the virus poses to most children

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has recently approved clesrovimab, Merck’s new shot touted to “protect” infants against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).1 This approval comes despite clinical trials showing adverse reactions associated with the shot.

What’s more, clesrovimab is designed to be given in a single dose, unlike previously approved RSV shots, which are given as a two-dose series. The shot is only available in a standard, 105-milligram (mg) dose — so whether your child is 12 months old or 12 weeks old, they will receive 105 mg of the drug. In medicine, one-size-fits-all dosing rarely ends well, and in this case, the data shows that it causes real harm.

Clinical Trials Reveal Alarming Side Effects Linked to Clesrovimab

Marketed as Enflonsia, clesrovimab is said to protect against RSV, a common respiratory virus that nearly every child in the U.S. contracts by age 2. It will be launched during this year’s RSV season, to compete with Beyfortus (nirsevimab), the “blockbuster” RSV shot from Sanofi and AstraZeneca.2

In a press release, Merck said that clesrovimab’s safety profile is “generally comparable” to placebo;3 however, if you look more closely at the clinical trial results,4 you’ll find severe side effects buried in the data.

• The research paints a different picture regarding clesrovimab’s effects — The trials involved 2,409 babies who received the injection and 1,202 who were given a placebo. These were healthy infants, ranging from early and moderate preterm to full-term.

The results were sobering. Among the babies given clesrovimab, there was a 50% higher risk of death compared to those in the placebo group. That’s three deaths in the shot group versus one in the placebo.

• Serious neurological adverse reactions were reported — According to a report from the Children’s Health Defense (CHD), “These included febrile convulsions, seizures, facial paralysis and brain injury at about three times the rate in the vaccine group (25 of 2,409) as the placebo group (4 of 1,202).”5

• The risk of respiratory tract infections (RTIs) also soared — According to the data, infants who received the shot had a 350% higher risk of getting an upper RTI and a 63% higher risk of lower RTIs. This is particularly ironic, considering this shot is supposed to prevent exactly these types of infections.

• Overall, the serious adverse event rate is 11.71% — Dr. Peter Selley, a general practitioner from the U.K. who has closely followed this drug’s development, notes that these effects are “concerning.” He also warns against the standardized dosing of this drug and its implications on very young children.

More Is Not Always Better — Especially with Infant Shots

It’s clear that Merck is eager to break into the RSV drug market, and for an obvious reason — Beyfortus, being the lone RSV antibody shot approved for children, raked in a whopping $1.8 billion in 2024 alone, following its approval in 2023.6

• Merck proudly notes that Enflonsia has about the same efficacy rate as Beyfortus — “In clinical trials, the shot reduced RSV-related hospitalization by 84.3% compared to placebo, and the incidence of RSV that needed to be medically attended by 60.5% versus placebo, through age 5 months in the clinical trials,” the CHD reports.

• These two shots have certain differences — Both clesrovimab and nirsevimab are monoclonal antibody shots; however, they bind to different antigenic sites — this complicates any comparison between the two. Another, as mentioned above, is the dosage per shot.

• One-time, uniform-dose shots carry risks — Unlike Beyfortus, which is given in a two-dose series in amounts that vary depending on the infant’s weight, Enflonsia is administered as a one-time, fixed-dose injection.7 Selley cautions against this standardized dosing, saying:

“The implications of this are that with only one dose of clesrovimab, tiny preterm babies under 5 kilograms are going to be injected with a relatively much bigger dose of the monoclonal antibody, leading to massive levels of the drug in their circulation. In most other fields of medicine, the aim is to find the lowest dose of a drug that is effective, as most side effects are dose-related.”8

The Problem with Monoclonal Antibody Shots

Unlike conventional vaccines, monoclonal antibody injections work by providing passive immunity as they directly supply antibodies to fight a specific pathogen. In contrast, a vaccine stimulates your body’s immune system to produce its own antibodies, creating active immunity that develops over time. This means that monoclonal antibodies fall into a different category for safety monitoring.

• Adverse reports could be underreported — The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) doesn’t directly monitor injuries from medications that are not vaccines; Instead, they rely on the FDA’s MedWatch system.9 This discrepancy not only leads to confusion among health care providers and the public about where and how to report side effects, but could also lead to adverse events being underreported, making it more difficult to accurately assess the injection’s safety profile.

• The rush to implement widespread use of these injections raises questions about long-term safety and economic feasibility — When Beyfortus was first released, internist and biological warfare epidemiologist, Dr. Meryl Nass expressed her concerns about the unknowns of the drug. On her Substack, Nass points out that no monoclonal antibody product has ever been given on a mass scale to children before.10

• The safety profile of nirsevimab is questionable — Nass points out that monoclonal antibodies are associated with numerous side effects, from changes in blood pressure and increased heart rate to cytokine release syndrome — yet the product label mentions only rashes and anaphylaxis as potential side effects of this drug.11

• Deaths during clinical trials may have been underreported — Nass points out that there was an “imbalance” in deaths between the treatment and placebo groups during clinical trials. The FDA reportedly “judged” that these excess deaths were not due to the monoclonal antibody, but it’s unclear how they reached this conclusion without more comprehensive safety data.12

Antibody-Dependent Enhancement (ADE) Is Another Possible Risk

ADE is a condition that was noted in a preprint study by French scientist Hélène Banoun, Ph.D.,13 and it occurs when antibodies actually help a virus infect cells more easily instead of neutralizing it. ADE has been observed with other respiratory viruses and vaccines, and it’s a theoretical risk with nirsevimab and clesrovimab as well.

•Antibodies in these shots could be engineered in a way that makes them more ineffective — Monoclonal antibody shots target the RSV fusion protein, but, here’s the catch — they are engineered to last longer in your baby’s body, with a half-life of 80 to 120 days.14 This unnatural modification could increase the risk of ADE as antibody levels gradually decline over time.

This is because the antibodies, at low concentrations, might not be able to fully neutralize the virus, instead facilitating its entry into cells. This could lead to more severe disease in some infants who receive the shot. Studies have shown that ADE can occur with RSV antibodies, particularly when they’re present at sub-neutralizing levels.15

• RSV antibodies can weaken your immunity by making your immune cells more prone to infections — Laboratory experiments have demonstrated that these antibodies enhance infection of certain cell types, such as macrophages, which are important immune cells in the lungs. This raises concerns about whether monoclonal antibody shots could make RSV infections worse in some babies as the antibody levels wane over time.

•Clinical trials conducted on nirsevimab have limitations that do not clearly assess its safety — Banoun’s study points out that many of the trials done on nirsevimab were conducted during periods of low RSV circulation — this means there weren’t many cases of severe RSV to compare between the treatment and placebo groups.16 This raises doubts about the shot’s reported accuracy, especially its effectiveness and safety.

RSV Season Is Coming Soon — Should You Be Alarmed?

According to the CHD report, even though CDC’s vaccine advisory committee has yet to give its recommendation regarding clesrovimab, Merck is gearing up to take orders, so supplies can be shipped out in time for the 2025 to 2026 RSV season — from October to April.17 But just how lethal is this virus, and do the risks of these antibody shots truly outweigh the dangers of this illness?

• RSV symptoms are similar to a mild cold — These include runny nose, coughing, sneezing, wheezing, and fever. Most children recuperate from RSV without any issues.

• In fact, 97% of all babies become infected with RSV by the time they turn 2 years old — This gives them partial immunity, so that when they become reinfected, the symptoms are less severe.

• However, in some infants, RSV can be dangerous — Babies that are born prematurely or with weakened immune systems are at risk of bronchiolitis or pneumonia when they acquire RSV and may need to be hospitalized. In U.S. babies younger than 1, RSV is the leading cause of hospitalization.18

• The mortality rate is significantly lower than expected — According to a 2021 study from the CDC,19 only a small percentage of children — 25 or fewer babies per year — succumb to the virus.

What to Do to Avoid RSV Shots and Protect Your Baby Naturally

The good news is there are safer, smarter ways to protect your baby from RSV without exposing them to the risks of these injections. It goes beyond eliminating every germ — it’s about creating a foundation of resilience. Here are some key strategies:

• During RSV season, avoid crowds and indoor daycares if you can — If you have a newborn — especially if your baby is a preemie or has any underlying health issues — avoid crowded indoor settings. This includes daycare centers, waiting rooms, and busy stores. The fewer RSV exposures your baby gets during the early months, the more time their immune system has to mature naturally.

• Breastmilk is best — Breastfeeding gives your baby passive immunity without the risks of injections. Your breast milk contains antibodies that help fight off RSV and many other infections. Many of breastfeeding’s benefits actually stretch out until adulthood. For more information, read “The Power of Breastfeeding.”

• Prioritize your own health during pregnancy to boost natural protection — The state of your health during pregnancy plays a central role in shaping your baby’s early immunity. Make sure to optimize your nutrient status (focusing on getting key nutrients like folate), avoid exposure to toxins, and improve your gut health — these all directly affect your baby’s development. Get sufficient high-quality sleep and reduce your stress as well.

• Get regular safe sun exposure for both you and your baby — Sunlight helps your body create vitamin D, which is foundational for immune strength and respiratory health. Aim for short, gentle sun exposure daily — especially morning sun. If your baby is old enough, allow them short periods of direct sun on their skin.

For you, daily morning walks outside without sunglasses or sunscreen support both vitamin D and melatonin production, which regulate your baby’s sleep cycles and immune rhythm.

• Keep your home environment clean, warm, and hydrated — Dry indoor air increases the chance that RSV will infect your baby’s respiratory tract. Use a clean humidifier to keep indoor humidity between 40% to 60% during the colder months. Keep your baby’s nose clear with saline drops and a suction bulb if needed. Wipe down commonly touched surfaces often — but skip harsh chemical cleaners.

Stick to natural disinfectants like vinegar or hydrogen peroxide to reduce toxin exposure while keeping your environment safe.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) About Clesrovimab (Enflonsia)

Q: What is clesrovimab, and why is it controversial?

A: Clesrovimab, marketed as Enflonsia, is Merck’s newly approved monoclonal antibody shot for preventing RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) in infants. It’s controversial because clinical trial data revealed a serious adverse event rate of 11.71%, including seizures, brain injuries, and even death. Despite these findings, the FDA approved it for use in all infants, regardless of weight or health status.

Q: How does clesrovimab compare to other RSV shots like nirsevimab (Beyfortus)?

A: While clesrovimab and nirsevimab are both monoclonal antibodies aimed at preventing RSV, clesrovimab is administered as a single fixed 105 mg dose for all infants. Nirsevimab, on the other hand, is dosed based on weight. Experts have warned that standardized dosing with clesrovimab, without taking into account the infant’s weight or size, could lead to overdosing in smaller or premature babies, increasing the risk of serious side effects.

Q: What types of side effects were seen in babies who received clesrovimab?

A: The trial reported a wide range of serious reactions: a 50% higher death rate, a 350% increased risk of upper respiratory infections, a 63% increase in lower respiratory infections, and three times the rate of severe neurological effects — such as seizures, febrile convulsions, facial paralysis, and brain injury — compared to the placebo group.

Q: How serious is RSV in most infants, and do these risks outweigh the benefits?

A: RSV is a common virus that nearly all children contract by age 2. It usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms. While it can be serious in a small number of cases — particularly in premature or immune-compromised babies — CDC data shows that only about 25 infants die from RSV each year in the U.S. For most families, the documented risks of clesrovimab far exceed the danger posed by RSV itself.

Q: What are safer alternatives to protect babies from RSV?

A: You can reduce RSV risk without resorting to injections by focusing on natural immunity: avoid crowded indoor spaces during RSV season, support infant immunity with breastfeeding, prioritize your own health during pregnancy, ensure regular gentle sun exposure for both you and your baby, and maintain a clean, well-humidified indoor environment. These steps help build true resilience without the documented risks of monoclonal antibody shots.

Shocking study links vaccine ingredient to autism severity in nearly 5,000 children

by: | mercury-in-vaccines(NaturalHealth365)  A new study has uncovered disturbing evidence that a toxic mercury-based preservative used in vaccines may be directly influencing how severe autism becomes in American children.  This research, published in Science, Public Health Policy and the Law, represents the first time anyone has systematically tracked autism severity trends over more than two decades.  What they found should alarm every parent.

Dr. Cynthia Nevison analyzed data from nearly 5,000 autism cases in the CDC’s Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Network from 1992 to 2014.  What she discovered completely contradicts what the medical establishment keeps telling us – that rising autism rates are simply because doctors are getting better at diagnosing mild cases.

The pattern that changes everything

Nevison tracked how many autistic children had intellectual disability (IQ below 70) – a way to measure severe autism – and found a pattern that lines up perfectly with vaccine policy changes.

The intellectual disability rate among autistic children dropped dramatically from 48% in 1992 to 31% in 2002.  But here’s the really disturbing part: the steepest drop happened between 2000 and 2002, right when thimerosal (a mercury-containing preservative) was being removed from most childhood vaccines.

After staying stable at 31% through 2006, the severe autism rate started climbing again, reaching 41% by 2014, right back where it was before 2000.  This increase occurred shortly after the CDC began aggressively promoting flu shots containing thimerosal for pregnant women and infants, starting in 2004.

“This trend contradicts the prevailing assumption that rising ASD prevalence is largely attributable to expanded diagnostic criteria capturing more mildly affected, higher-functioning individuals,” noted researcher Dr. James Lyons-Weiler.

The thimerosal timeline nobody talks about

The timeline is too obvious to dismiss:

1999: CDC, American Academy of Pediatrics, and vaccine manufacturers agree to remove thimerosal as a “precautionary measure”

2001: Thimerosal removed from most childhood vaccines (except multi-dose flu shots)

2000-2002: Severe autism rates plummet from 38% to 31%

2004: CDC begins recommending flu shots for pregnant women and children 6-23 months

2006: Flu shot recommendations expanded to children 6 months to 5 years old

2006-2014: Severe autism rates steadily climb back to pre-removal levels

How mercury damages developing brains

Nevison explained that children with autism consistently have higher levels of toxic metals, including mercury, lead, and aluminum, in their systems.  These toxins cross the placenta and accumulate in the developing fetal brain, causing chronic inflammation and oxidative stress that can permanently disrupt brain development.

Mercury from thimerosal is particularly dangerous because it crosses the blood-brain barrier and has been directly linked to autism severity in multiple studies.  When given during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester, these toxins can cause devastating neurological damage.

“Autism is increasingly understood to have a strong environmental component involving toxic exposures in utero and early childhood,” Nevison wrote.  “These exposures can cause chronic systemic and neuro-inflammation as well as mitochondrial oxidative stress.”

Even the medical establishment finally admits something’s wrong

In what appears to be an acknowledgment that the evidence is overwhelming, the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recently voted to stop recommending thimerosal-containing flu vaccines, with only one doctor dissenting.

But the damage might already be done.  According to data presented at the meeting, over 60,000 pregnant women got thimerosal-containing vaccines during just the 2019-2020 flu season alone.

Children’s Health Defense researcher Karl Jablonowski put it bluntly: “Autism is not a natural disaster, it is a disaster of our own making.  We cannot un-injure children, but we can stop the injuries from continuing.”

What parents can do right now

While we can’t undo decades of mercury exposure, we can take steps to protect children from ongoing toxic damage:

Support your body’s detox systems that help eliminate heavy metals and other toxins that build up in developing brains

Avoid unnecessary vaccines during pregnancy and early childhood, especially those with toxic preservatives or adjuvants

Choose single-dose vaccines when vaccination is your desire  to avoid thimerosal exposure

Build immune systems naturally so children are less vulnerable to environmental toxins

Address the toxic overload that modern children face from multiple sources – vaccines, food, air, and water

Why detox matters more than ever

This study provides smoking-gun evidence that environmental toxins are driving both the autism rates and the severity of autism.  With nearly 1 in 31 children now diagnosed with autism, supporting the body’s natural detox systems has become critical for every family.

medications-poison-children-every-day(NaturalHealth365)  A shocking new report from Australia has exposed what may be the most devastating healthcare crisis of our time – and it’s happening right under our noses.  Every single day, nearly 100 children are rushed to emergency rooms because the very medications designed to help them are instead causing serious harm.

But this isn’t just an Australian problem – it’s a global epidemic that’s ravaging American families at an unprecedented scale.

The staggering scale of pharmaceutical harm

The latest Pharmaceutical Society of Australia Medicine Safety report reveals a healthcare system in crisis.  93 children present to emergency departments daily with suspected medicine poisoning, with 40 of these requiring hospital admission.  Even more alarming?  Half of these cases are completely preventable.

But here’s what should terrify every parent: this represents only the tip of the iceberg.  The report found that 120,000 children under 14 experienced adverse drug reactions in just six months, nearly a third of them under age 5.  These aren’t rare, freak accidents.  This is systematic pharmaceutical harm happening to our most vulnerable population.

Dr. Imaina Widagdo, the report’s lead researcher, delivered a chilling assessment: “Given that nearly 100 children present at hospitals each day for adverse reactions, it’s clear that more needs to be done to protect their health.”

America’s hidden pharmaceutical crisis

While this Australian data is alarming, the situation in the United States is far worse.  With a population 13 times larger than Australia, we can conservatively estimate that over 1,200 American children are hospitalized daily from prescription drug reactions.  That’s more than 400,000 children per year – a number that dwarfs most childhood diseases we actively work to prevent.

The FDA’s own Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) has documented millions of serious adverse drug events, yet this represents only a fraction of actual cases since reporting is voluntary, and many healthcare providers fail to connect symptoms with pharmaceutical causes.

The Tylenol time bomb

The Australian report identified acetaminophen (sold as Tylenol in the US) as one of the primary culprits behind childhood medication poisoning.  But this revelation barely scratches the surface of a much darker truth that pharmaceutical companies desperately want to keep hidden.

We’re not just talking about accidental overdoses – we’re talking about systematic harm from “therapeutic” doses that doctors routinely prescribe to developing children whose bodies process medications completely differently than adults.

The off-label experimentation on children

Perhaps the most disturbing aspect of this crisis is how the pharmaceutical industry has essentially turned children into unwitting test subjects.  As Dr. Widagdo noted, “Because medicines are rarely trialed with children, the doses, safety, and efficacy of certain medicines may not be fully known or always accurate.”

This means doctors are routinely prescribing medications to children based on adult studies, adjusting doses by weight, and hoping for the best.  Off-label prescribing – using drugs for conditions or populations for which they weren’t approved – has become standard practice in pediatric medicine, with devastating consequences.

The FDA estimates that 75% of medications used in children have never been adequately studied in pediatric populations.  We’re conducting a massive, uncontrolled experiment on America’s children, and the results are catastrophic.

Antidepressants poison young minds

The Australian report also identified antidepressants as a major cause of medication poisoning in children.  Antidepressant use among children and teens has exploded over the past two decades, despite mounting evidence of serious risks, including increased suicide risk, violent behavior, sexual dysfunction, and withdrawal syndromes that can last months or years.

Yet doctors continue prescribing these powerful psychoactive drugs to developing brains, often based on subjective assessments rather than objective medical tests.

The $2 billion cost of medical negligence

The Australian report calculated that medication-related harm costs their healthcare system at least $130 million annually.  Scaling this to the US population and healthcare costs, American families are likely facing over $2 billion in direct costs from preventable pharmaceutical injuries to children.

But the real cost cannot be measured in dollars.  We’re talking about permanent brain damage, lifelong disabilities, and destroyed futures – all from medications that were supposed to help.

Natural immune system solutions for parents

Instead of relying on pharmaceuticals that often cause more harm than good, parents can build their children’s natural immunity through proven, safe strategies:

Immune-building nutrients:

  • Vitamin D3: Most children are severely deficient in this crucial immune regulator.  Optimal levels (50-80 ng/ml) dramatically reduce infection rates and severity.
  • Zinc: Critical for immune cell function and wound healing.  Natural sources include pumpkin seeds and grass-fed beef.
  • Vitamin C: Supports white blood cell production and antioxidant protection.  Use whole food sources like acerola cherry and camu camu or a high quality supplement.
  • Probiotics: 70% of immune function originates in the gut.  Fermented foods and high-quality probiotic supplements restore beneficial bacteria.

Immune-strengthening foods:

  • Raw honey: Contains powerful antimicrobial compounds and enzymes
  • Elderberry: Proven antiviral properties that reduce illness duration
  • Garlic and onions: Natural antibiotics that support immune function
  • Bone broth: Provides minerals and amino acids essential for immune cell production

Lifestyle immune boosters:

  • Adequate sleep: Growth hormone and immune cells regenerate during deep sleep
  • Regular outdoor play: Fresh air, sunlight, and moderate exercise strengthen immunity
  • Stress reduction: Chronic stress suppresses immune function in children
  • Limiting processed foods: Sugar and artificial additives weaken the immune response

Breaking free from pharmaceutical dependency

Children’s immune systems are designed to be incredibly robust when given proper support through nutrition and natural therapeutics.  Real health comes from supporting the body’s natural healing systems, not suppressing symptoms with drugs that create more problems than they solve.

Every parent needs to understand that “FDA approved” does not mean “safe for children,” especially when most pediatric prescribing is off-label experimentation.

The pharmaceutical industry has turned our children into profit centers, subjecting their developing bodies to dangerous chemical experiments disguised as “medicine.”  The time for awakening is now.  Jonathan Landsman’s Immune Defense Summit brings together 34 world-renowned scientists, researchers, doctors, and nutritionists who reveal how to build genuine immunity naturally and protect your children from the pharmaceutical assault on their health.

New research confirms fluoride exposure in drinking water linked to serious neurodevelopmental disorders

Reproduced from original article:
https://www.naturalhealth365.com/new-research-confirms-fluoride-exposure-in-drinking-water-linked-to-serious-neurodevelopmental-disorders.html

by: |

fluoride-in-drinking-water(NaturalHealth365)  Just when health advocates thought they couldn’t be more concerned about widespread water fluoridation practices, alarming new research delivers a devastating blow to proponents of this dubious public health intervention.  A brand new study published, in BMC Pediatrics, reveals the true extent of damage fluoridated water inflicts on our children’s developing brains.

This comprehensive longitudinal study examined a massive dataset spanning over two decades (1990-2012), tracking more than 73,000 children enrolled in Florida’s Medicaid system for their first ten years of life.  What researchers David A. Geier and Mark R. Geier uncovered should send shockwaves through communities still blindly accepting fluoride in their drinking water.

Fluoride exposure dramatically increases autism and intellectual disability risks

The findings are nothing short of alarming.  Children exposed to fluoridated water showed a staggering 6.26-fold increased risk of autism spectrum disorder compared to unexposed children.  They also experienced a 2.02-fold greater risk of intellectual disability and a 1.24-fold increase in specific developmental delays.

Even more troubling, these associations were dose-dependent – meaning the more fluoride children were exposed to, the greater their risk of developing these life-altering conditions.  This directly contradicts the establishment narrative that has downplayed fluoride’s dangers for decades.

Government agencies continue ignoring mounting evidence

Despite this damning new evidence, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) still maintains water fluoridation is “one of the ten greatest public health achievements of the 20th Century” – a claim that appears increasingly disconnected from scientific reality.

This willful ignorance is nothing new.  The study authors point out that previous research by the CDC examining fluoridation and dental claims in Louisiana Medicaid from 1995-1996 completely failed to conduct any safety assessments.  This pattern of evaluating supposed benefits while deliberately avoiding investigating potential harms has characterized fluoride promotion for decades.

The truth can no longer be suppressed

Dr. Hardy Limeback, former head of preventive dentistry at the University of Toronto, questions the establishment’s priorities:  “How many IQ points were lost in Medicaid kids living in fluoridated communities?  How many more autistic kids can be blamed on fluoride exposure from birth to age 10?”

Karl Jablonowski, a senior research scientist quoted in the study, puts the findings in stark perspective:  “In terms of absolute risk, if this study is correct, out of every thousand children, water fluoridation induces autism in 11, intellectual disability in 5, and specific developmental delay in 49.”

He adds, “That is a trade-off no parent would make, no doctor would recommend, and no society would allow.”

Fluoride damages developing brains even at low exposures

The study confirms what independent researchers have warned about for years – fluoride is a potent neurotoxin that can cause significant harm even at the low levels typically found in municipal water supplies.

Recent studies from Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. consistently show associations between higher fluoride exposure and worse neurocognitive outcomes.  A meta-analysis published in January demonstrated that fluoride exposure is associated with significant reductions in children’s IQ scores.

These effects shouldn’t be surprising.  The researchers explain that “fluoride-associated neurotoxicity is associated with increased oxidative stress, synaptic and neurotransmission dysfunction, disruption of mitochondrial/energy metabolism, and calcium channel dysregulation.”  In other words, fluoride interferes with the fundamental biological processes necessary for proper brain development.

What you can do to protect your family

With approximately 75% of U.S. public drinking water contaminated with fluoride, protecting your family requires immediate action:

  1. Install a high-quality water filtration system specifically designed to remove fluoride (many standard filters don’t address this toxin)
  2. Avoid fluoridated toothpaste and dental products, especially for children
  3. Be aware that children can only excrete about 45% of fluoride through their kidneys – the very organs damaged by fluoride exposure

This latest research adds to the overwhelming evidence that fluoride represents a clear and present danger to children’s neurological development.  As more independent studies confirm these risks, the practice of adding this industrial waste product to our drinking water increasingly appears as one of the most reckless and harmful public health experiments ever conducted.

The Trump Administration Must Bring Moderna to Heel

The Trump Administration Must Bring Moderna to Heel

The Trump Administration Must Bring Moderna to Heel

Last week, independent journalist Alex Berenson reported that a preschool-aged child died of “cardio-respiratory arrest” after taking a dose of Moderna’s Covid mRNA vaccine during its clinical trials. Despite federal requirements to report all trial information, the company withheld the truth for years as it raked in billions from its Covid shots.

The extent of the cover-up remains unknown, but Moderna, headed by CEO Stéphane Bancel, disregarded federal law requiring companies to report “summary results information, including adverse event information, for specified clinical trials of drug products” to clinicaltrials.gov. The company, not the government, is responsible for posting all results, and failure to report the death of a child constitutes a clear breach of US law, which threatens civil action against any party that “falsifies, conceals, or covers up by any trick, scheme, or device a material fact.”

To this point, pharmaceutical companies have remained largely immune for their role in perpetrating globally-scaled deception resulting in thousands of vaccine injuries and billions in profits. They have enjoyed a liability shield courtesy of the PREP Act, which offers protections for injuries resulting from vaccines; that indemnity, however, does not extend to non-compliance with federal regulations, material misstatements or omissions of fact, or other offenses.

The death of the child only became known because of an obscure European report released last year, which revealed that Moderna has known about the death for over two years while it continues to advertise Covid shots to children as young as six months old.

Moderna’s European filing also revealed that the company withheld trial results demonstrating that children under 12 who received the vaccine were ten times more likely than those who received the placebo to suffer “serious side effects.” Without any evidence, Moderna claimed that the side effects, including the death of a child, were unrelated to the shots.

The incoming Trump administration offers a rare opportunity to hold pharmaceutical companies accountable and to investigate the depth of the cover-up.

The FDA is responsible for enforcing the reporting of vaccine trial results, but recent heads of the agency such as Scott Gottlieb and Robert Califf have been fanatical supporters of Big Pharma. Trump’s choice for FDA, Dr. Marty Makary, presents a stark contrast to his predecessors. Makary has criticized the US Government’s reluctance to acknowledge the role of natural immunity in preventing Covid infection, and he opposed the widespread vaccination of children. He testified to Congress, “In the U.S. we gave thousands of healthy kids myocarditis for no good reason, they were already immune. This was avoidable.”

President-elect Trump has tapped Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., perhaps the most well-known critic of the Covid vaccines, to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, which oversees the FDA. He has named Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, an author of the Great Barrington Declaration, as his choice to head the National Institutes of Health. Further, Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) told Berenson that he plans to subpoena the FDA once Republicans become the majority party in the Senate this month.

President Trump’s first term was ultimately defined by his failure to fulfill his pledge to “drain the swamp.” A corrupt bureaucracy, personified in many ways by Dr. Anthony Fauci, aided and abetted by advisors like his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, hijacked the president’s agenda. Now, the Trump administration has an unlikely yet monumental opportunity for health reform, which can start on January 20 with an investigation into Moderna’s cover-up.

The Covid response doomed Trump 1.0. Whether one regards this as a monumental error, the betrayal of a president by his advisors, an event beyond the president’s control, or a deeper and more complex plot involving everything and everyone associated with the government, both in the US and around the world, there is no question of the scale of the calamity for the public. The shots are part of that, the capstone failure of a long line of foreshadowing with lockdowns and all that was associated with pre-pharmaceutical interventions. The antidote came not as a cure but, for many, the disease itself.

There must be truth if not justice.

Hospitalized preterm infants had a 170% higher incidence of apnea within 48 hours of receiving their routine 2-month vaccinations compared to unvaccinated babies, according to a new study. The authors said the study supports current vaccine recommendations, but some scientists disagreed and raised concerns about SIDS.

vaccine and infant feet

The study, published Jan. 6 in JAMA Pediatrics, defined apnea “as a respiration pause greater than 20 seconds or a respiration pause greater than 15 seconds with associated bradycardia” — or low heart rate of less than 80 beats per minute.

Noting that preterm infants receive their routine vaccinations at the same time as full-term infants, the study sought to determine whether routine 2-month vaccinations resulted in an increased risk of apnea.

The authors concluded, “The similar number and duration of apneic events and lack of serious adverse events suggest that current vaccination recommendations for hospitalized preterm infants are appropriate.”

However, Karl Jablonowski, Ph.D., senior research scientist at Children’s Health Defense, said the authors arrived at their conclusion “by ignoring the risks” evident in their own data.

“A premature infant experiencing apnea will likely have a longer neonatal intensive care unit stay, further exposing them to hospital-acquired infection,” Jablonowski said. “This is on top of the other risk factors for apnea like death, respiratory failure, long-term lung problems and failure to thrive.

In a Substack post, cardiologist Dr. Peter McCullough suggested that “it is conceivable” that with seven vaccines at age 2 months and 16 vaccines at 12-15 months, “combination vaccination could be associated with significant unmonitored apneas, febrile seizures, or both resulting in sudden infant death syndrome [SIDS] at home.”

Biologist Christina Parks, Ph.D., an expert in how vaccines affect the immune system, told The Defender the study confirms “what previous studies on premature infants have shown — that vaccination induces cardiorespiratory stress that manifests as the slowing of heart rate (bradycardia) and respiration as well as the cessation of breathing (apnea) for brief periods of time.”

Parks said the fact that “the known risks have not been implicated as potential causes of SIDS is inexcusable at this point.”

Study suggests ‘one-size-fits-all approach to vaccination’ not appropriate for preterm infants

Research scientist and author James Lyons-Weiler, Ph.D., told The Defender the study “is a wake-up call” that highlights how routine vaccinations, particularly in preterm infants, may carry overlooked risks.

“The increased incidence of apnea in vaccinated preterm infants suggests that the one-size-fits-all approach to vaccination may not be appropriate for such a vulnerable population,” Lyons-Weiler said. “It underscores the need to consider individual physiological differences — especially in those with underdeveloped systems — and tailor vaccination practices accordingly.”

Lyons-Weiler said the study’s authors appear to prioritize the broader public health benefits of vaccination over the individual risks demonstrated in the study. He said:

“They assume that the short-term apnea risks are outweighed by the long-term protection against infectious diseases. However, this conclusion overlooks critical questions about long-term outcomes for these infants, particularly if apnea episodes have lingering neurological consequences. They did not, however, really think this through. What is a pre-term infant’s life worth?”

Parks noted that the study did not present an analysis of what the potential causes of the increased incidence of apnea in vaccinated infants might be. “The complete lack of interest in the mechanisms by which vaccination is increasing cardiorespiratory distress in infants is also somewhat shocking.”

Jablonowski noted that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s childhood immunization schedule has expanded since the study was conducted, from 2018 to 2021.

“Had this study been performed today, with the rapidly expanding CDC immunization schedule, the infants would have received Prevnar 20 instead of Prevnar 13 — so, seven additional antigens for pneumococcal, the rotavirus vaccine — up to five more antigens, and a monoclonal antibody for RSV,” Jablonowski said.

Four vaccinated infants had suspected cases of sepsis

Jablonowski also highlighted a less-emphasized outcome of the study: Four vaccinated infants had suspected cases of sepsis — a condition where the body responds improperly to an infection. By comparison, only one unvaccinated infant has a suspected case of sepsis.

Jablonowski said:

“The most startling finding of this study was not its primary or secondary outcomes, but an exploratory outcome concerning sepsis.

“No one versed in vaccine adverse reactions would be surprised that four vaccinated infants — compared to one unvaccinated infant — presented with fever. Everyone should be surprised that four vaccinated infants — compared to one unvaccinated infant — had blood cultures or were administered antibiotics over a concern for sepsis.

“Did the onslaught of the study’s five vaccines, covering 19 antigens, simultaneously administered, mimic sepsis symptoms or degrade the immune systems so severely to allow a pathogen to gain a foothold?”

Previous studies have confirmed the risk of infant sepsis after vaccination, Parks said.

“Traditionally, doctors assumed that infant sepsis was due to bacterial infection and treated with antibiotics even when no bacterial infection could be identified. However, these previous studies demonstrated that it was actually vaccination that led to this potentially life-threatening hyper-inflammatory state,” Parks said.

According to French independent scientist Hélène Banoun, Ph.D., the study confirms a French medical thesis published in 2013. That study examined 144 preterm babies, finding that 68% of newborns experienced significant cardiorespiratory events after vaccination.

“Taken together, all of these studies show that vaccination causes extreme, and possibly life-threatening, stress to the infant body and the tinier the body, the less resources it has to withstand that stress,” Parks said.

Aluminum-containing vaccines may pose a particular risk to preterm infants

Lyons-Weiler said that the study’s results also provide an indication of the risk involved with administering multiple vaccines at the same time or within a short period — particularly in babies and young children.

“Preterm infants already have underdeveloped immune and neurological systems, and the cumulative aluminum burden from multiple vaccines could exacerbate risks like apnea,” he said. “This study suggests that combination vaccination in such populations needs to be carefully reevaluated.”

He also noted that some vaccines routinely administered to infants contain aluminum. He analyzed the potential risks of administering such vaccines to babies on his Substack.

“Aluminum adjuvants are known to trigger immune activation and inflammation, which could impact respiratory and neurological stability in preterm infants,” Lyons-Weiler said. “Unfortunately, the study did not explore specific mechanisms, such as aluminum adjuvants, that might explain the observed increase in apnea. This is a significant oversight.”

Aluminum salts “are potent immune activators and could trigger systemic inflammation, disrupting respiratory control,” Lyons-Weiler said. He said infant vaccination could also spur cytokine production, “which may interfere with the immature neurological pathways responsible for regulating breathing.”

“Simultaneous administration of multiple vaccines increases the immune activation burden and cumulative aluminum exposure, compounding risks,” Lyons-Weiler said.

Writing on Substack, Lyons-Weiler called for vaccines that do not contain aluminum to be prioritized. He also called for the delayed vaccination of infants “not at immediate risk of Hepatitis B infection, or who have respiratory or cardiac episodes following vaccination” and proposed weight-based dosing “to account for the smaller body mass and underdeveloped renal function of preterm infants.”

“Delaying non-essential vaccinations until greater physiological maturity may provide a safer path forward,” Lyons-Weiler wrote.

benefits of eating watermelon regularly

STORY AT-A-GLANCE

  • Watermelon is a nutrient-dense fruit containing vitamins, minerals and bioactive compounds that offer antimicrobial, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antihypertensive benefits, surpassing other fruits in antioxidant content
  • It may help reduce cardiovascular disease risk by improving heart rate variability and vasodilation through its L-citrulline and L-arginine content, which are precursors to nitric oxide
  • It also aids weight management due to its low calorie content and ability to promote satiety, with studies showing reductions in body weight and fat percentage in children
  • Watermelon supports male fertility by improving semen quality, increasing antioxidant enzyme activities, boosting hormonal levels and enhancing sexual activity, as evidenced by various animal and human studies
  • Watermelon also offers benefits for skin health, muscle recovery, bone health and digestion, thanks to its diverse nutrient profile

Fresh, ripe fruits are some of the ideal sources of carbohydrates you can include in your diet. Some fruits are better than others, though, and among all the options available, watermelon stands out as one of your best choices. I personally consume about 3 to 4 pounds of this fruit (without the rind) per day.

Watermelon is considered the United States’ favorite melon,1 and is especially popular during the summer months, thanks to its high water content (about 91% by weight),2 making it a healthy option for quenching your thirst. Beyond helping you stay hydrated and refreshed, watermelon offers an impressive nutrient profile that can contribute to your optimal overall health.

Beneficial Nutrients and Compounds in Watermelon

Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus) belongs to the Cucurbitaceae or gourd family. Contrary to the misconception that it’s just water and sugar, watermelon is actually a nutrient-dense fruit. A 2023 review3 published in the journal JBRA Assisted Reproduction highlighted the fruit’s nutritional profile:

“Watermelon is a robust source of vitamins, minerals and other important substances that may contribute to its pharmacologic applications. Vitamins provided through watermelon consumption include thiamine, riboflavin, niacin and folate.

Beyond this, vital electrolytes including potassium, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus and iron are also found in watermelon … Carotenoids found in watermelons such as lycopene and β-carotene are responsible for the watermelon’s red and orange hues, respectively. Cucurbitacin, triterpenes, sterols and alkaloids are bioactive chemicals found in watermelon.”

These vitamins, minerals and bioactive compounds contribute to watermelon’s wide range of pharmacologic benefits, which include antimicrobial, anthelmintic, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antihypertensive actions.

It’s also been found to possess a higher antioxidant content than other fruits such as tomatoes, strawberries and guavas. These properties make watermelon a valuable therapeutic ally for various health conditions.4

Watermelon Helps Reduce Your Risk of Heart Disease

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains a leading cause of death worldwide,5 making prevention through dietary choices increasingly important. Watermelon is one of the fruits that have been studied for its potential to combat this condition.

A 2021 study6 published in Current Atherosclerosis Reports noted that watermelon’s cardiometabolic benefits come from its L-citrulline and L-arginine content, which are precursors of nitric oxide (NO). NO is important to your body, but the caveat is that it needs to come from real food. It plays a role in vasodilation, helping relax and widen your blood vessels, thereby reducing blood pressure levels.

Another study7 published in the journal Nutrients corroborates these findings, highlighting the role of NO on heart rate variability (HRV), a measure of the variation in time between successive heartbeats. Low HRV is associated with an increased risk of CVD and mortality, as well as the accumulation of visceral fat, hyperglycemia, endothelial dysfunction and increased inflammation.

The study also showed that watermelon juice helped counteract the reduction in NO-mediated vasodilation caused by an oral glucose challenge, a test where a glucose-rich drink is consumed to assess how the body processes sugar. According to the authors:8

“Using a rigorous study design, we show the efficacy of a naturally rich source of amino acids, L-citrulline and L-arginine to preserve HRV during a hyperglycemic episode.

These findings build on our previous work that shows WMJ [watermelon juice] supplementation protects vascular function during hyperglycemia. NO bioavailability is potentially a link between these two integrated physiological systems, but more work is required to develop a mechanistic understanding of this relationship.”

Further supporting this fruit’s cardiovascular benefits, a 2023 study9 published in the journal Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice showed that consuming watermelon helped reduce the factors of cardiovascular disease, including systolic blood pressure (SBP) and low-density lipoprotein (LDL). “The current findings provide promising evidence of the antihypertensive effect of watermelon,” the researchers concluded.

Consuming This Fruit Can Also Help You Lose Weight

With its high water content, watermelon is low in calories, making it a good fruit of choice if you’re being mindful of your calorie intake. A study10 conducted by researchers from the School of Exercise and Nutritional Sciences at San Diego State University evaluated the effects of blenderized watermelon on overweight and obese children aged 10 to 17.

For eight weeks, the participants drank either a cup of blended watermelon or a sugary beverage every day. After a four-week break, they then switched to the other drink. The researchers measured their weight, body fat and several health indicators before and after each period.

Their findings showed that drinking blenderized watermelon led to significant reductions in body weight, body fat percentage and HbA1c, which reflects the average level of blood sugar you have over the past two to three months. In contrast, consuming the sugary drink led to an increase in body fat. “Watermelon is a potential alternative to unhealthful snacks for improving anthropometry and some risk factors related to obesity in children,” the researchers noted.11

Another way watermelon can aid weight management is by promoting satiety and curbing the desire to eat unhealthy foods. A 2022 study published in Nutrients12 found that “[i]t’s possible the sweetness of watermelon curbed the desire to have other foods with added sugars.” Watermelon consumption was also found to improve overall nutrient intake and diet quality in both adults and children.

“Children and adult watermelon consumers had greater than 5% higher intake of dietary fiber, magnesium, potassium and vitamin A as well as more than 5% lower intake of added sugars and total saturated fatty acids, as well as higher intake of lycopene and other carotenoids. This study suggests watermelon can increase nutrient intake as well as diet quality in both children and adult Americans.”

Watermelon May Be Beneficial for Male Fertility

Watermelon may be beneficial for reproductive health as well, particularly in men, as indicated by a 2023 article13 published in JBRA Assisted Reproduction. The reviewed studies highlighted several ways this fruit can help enhance male fertility:14

  • Improved semen quality — Watermelon contains vitamin C, which has been shown to preserve human sperm by neutralizing harmful radicals and inhibiting sperm agglutination (clumping), thereby improving sperm morphology, motility and viability. Its carotenoid content may also contribute to protecting the sperm cells and the blood-testis barrier.
  • Higher antioxidant enzyme activities — Watermelon consumption led to increased superoxide dismutase (SOD) concentration, an enzyme that plays a crucial role in neutralizing harmful free radicals. By boosting SOD levels, watermelon helps protect sperm cells from oxidative stress and damage, improving overall sperm health and function.
  • Increased hormonal levels — Animal studies have shown that watermelon extract can increase levels of testosterone and gonadotropin, which are essential hormones for male fertility.
  • Enhanced sexual activity — Animal studies have shown that watermelon extract can increase sexual activity, as evidenced by more frequent mating attempts, longer duration before ejaculation and shorter recovery time between mating sessions in rats.

This Fruit Can Also Protect Your Liver

Watermelon is one of the fruits that have been found to exert antifibrotic effects in animal models with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). According to a 2023 study15 published in the Heliyon journal, this effect is largely due to watermelon’s phytosterol content, which may help reduce liver inflammation and function.

An animal study16 published in the journal Food Science & Nutrition further demonstrated the hepatoprotective benefits of watermelon, particularly highlighting its L-citrulline content. The researchers found that L-citrulline helps combat NAFLD by enhancing lipid metabolism, reducing fat production and protecting the liver against damage caused by fat accumulation and fibrogenesis.

More Reasons to Eat Watermelon

In addition to the benefits discussed above, watermelon consumption may also have benefits for:

• Skin and muscles — Watermelon contains vitamins A and C,17 which are both important for maintaining healthy skin. Vitamin A supports cell growth and repair,18 while vitamin C aids in collagen production, which is essential for skin elasticity and healing.19 Additionally, L-citrulline may help improve blood flow, which in turn reduces muscle soreness and aids in recovery after exercise.

• Bone and joint health — The potassium and magnesium content20 of watermelon contributes to your bone health by supporting calcium absorption and maintaining bone density. Potassium helps reduce calcium loss through urine,21 while magnesium plays a role in bone formation.22

Watermelon also contains beta-cryptoxanthin, which has anti-inflammatory properties that may help alleviate joint pain and stiffness, promoting overall joint health.23

• Cancer prevention — Watermelon’s high levels of antioxidants, particularly lycopene and beta-carotene, are associated with lower risks of cancer. Lycopene has been linked to a reduced risk of prostate, breast and lung cancer due to its ability to combat free radicals,24,25 whereas beta-carotene may lower your risk of gastric and other cancers by neutralizing oxidative stress that can damage cells and DNA.26

• Digestion — Watermelon’s high water content helps support regular bowel movements, while its fiber content adds bulk to your stool and reduces your risk of constipation.27

Tips for Choosing and Preparing Watermelon

When buying watermelon, there are several key signs to look for to ensure you’re getting a ripe and tasty fruit. Start by checking the color — a ripe watermelon will have a deep green color with a noticeable contrast in shade between the stripes.

Look for a creamy, yellow spot on the rind — this is where the melon rested on the ground and ripened in the sun. If it’s very pale or white, the watermelon may have been picked too early and might not be as ripe.

Next, give it a tap or a knock. A ripe watermelon will produce a deep, hollow sound, while an underripe or overripe one might sound dull. Weight is another good indicator; pick up the watermelon to feel how heavy it is. It should be heavy for its size, suggesting it’s full of juice.

Make sure to also check the shape and condition of its rind. You want one that’s symmetrical, smooth and waxy without any cuts, bruises, irregular bumps or dents. Cracks and soft spots could be signs of overripeness or spoilage.28,29,30

Once you’ve picked out the perfect watermelon, follow this simple step-by-step guide from The Spruce Eats to slice it properly:31

  1. Start by placing the watermelon on a firm cutting board or work surface.
  2. Using a heavy, sharp knife, slice off both ends of the watermelon just enough to expose the flesh inside and provide a stable base for the next steps.
  3. Stand the watermelon upright on one of the cut ends. Carefully slice it down the middle lengthwise, creating two halves.
  4. Place each half of the watermelon cut-side down on the cutting board. Slice each half into quarters. You can then cut these quarters into thick or thin slices depending on your preference.
  5. Serve the watermelon slices immediately for the best flavor or cover them and refrigerate until you’re ready to eat.

Optimize Your Mitochondrial Function to Make the Most of Watermelon

While I believe that ripe fruits like watermelon (as well as starches like white rice) are ideal carbs, it’s important to note that they’re complex carbohydrates. Complex carbs can nourish your gut microbiome, but they can also feed pathogenic bacteria when you’re exposed to metabolic poisons like linoleic acid32 and xenoestrogens.33

These can impair your mitochondrial energy production and increase oxygen levels in the intestine, creating an environment conducive to pathogenic bacteria growth. When these harmful bacteria consume complex carbs, they proliferate and eventually die, releasing high levels of lipopolysaccharide, an endotoxin that further compromises cellular energy production.

The solution is to improve your mitochondrial function, so that your mitochondria are able to produce enough cellular energy to maintain an appropriate oxygen gradient in your intestine. Once you achieve that, you can benefit from complex carbs again. Until then, it’s best to carefully introduce complex carbs into your diet.

If complex carbs result in bowel issues, then consider temporarily restricting your carb intake to very simple carbohydrates such as pulp-free fruit juice, which is easier to digest. Once your gut health improves and you can tolerate whole fruits, you can add more forms of complex carbs into your diet.

lack of vaccine safety studies

STORY AT-A-GLANCE

  • Dr. Stanley Plotkin co-authored a paper in the New England Journal of Medicine admitting significant gaps in vaccine safety research, contradicting decades of claims that vaccines are thoroughly studied and safe
  • The paper acknowledges inadequacies in prelicensure clinical trials and reveals a lack of dedicated funding for post-approval vaccine safety studies in the U.S.
  • Over 76% of vaccine-related health outcomes examined by the Institute of Medicine lacked sufficient evidence to determine causality, challenging assertions that vaccine safety is settled science
  • A study by Dr. Paul Thomas found higher rates of various health issues in vaccinated children compared to unvaccinated children, highlighting the need for more independent research
  • Critics argue the authors’ proposed solutions and motivations suggest an attempt to boost public confidence in vaccines rather than critically examine vaccine safety concerns

In a stunning reversal, Dr. Stanley Plotkin, widely regarded as the godfather of modern vaccinology, has co-authored a paper in the New England Journal of Medicine1 (NEJM) acknowledging significant gaps in vaccine safety research and calling for increased funding to address these shortcomings.

This admission comes after decades of the medical establishment insisting that vaccines are among the most thoroughly studied and safest medical interventions. In the paper, titled “Funding Postauthorization Vaccine-Safety Science,”2 they make a series of revelations that validate concerns long raised by vaccine safety advocates. In a commentary, Aaron Siri, managing partner of New York law firm Siri & Glimstad, writes:3

“Wow. After decades of Dr. Stanley Plotkin and his vaccinologist disciples insisting vaccines are the most well studied products on the planet, they just penned an article admitting precisely the opposite.

They just admitted vaccines are not properly studied — neither prelicensure nor post-licensure. They admitted, for example, ‘prelicensure clinical trials have limited sample sizes [and] follow-up durations’ and that ‘there are not resources earmarked for postauthorization safety studies.'”

Key Admissions Shine Light on Lack of Vaccine Safety Studies

One of the most striking admissions in the paper is the acknowledgment that prelicensure clinical trials for vaccines are inadequate for assessing safety. The authors state:4

“Postauthorization studies are needed to fully characterize the safety profile of a new vaccine, since prelicensure clinical trials have limited sample sizes, follow-up durations, and population heterogeneity. It is critical to examine adverse events following immunization (AEFIs) that have not been detected in clinical trials, to ascertain whether they are causally or coincidentally related to vaccination.”

This contradicts previous claims by vaccine proponents that clinical trials provide robust evidence of safety prior to approval. The admission that these trials have limited follow-up periods is particularly notable, as critics have long argued that potential long-term effects of vaccines are not adequately studied before they are approved and recommended for widespread use.

“Let me translate,” Siri writes, “the clinical trials relied upon to license childhood vaccines are useless with regard to safety since they virtually never have a placebo control, typically review safety for days or weeks after injection, and often have far too few participants to measure anything of value.”5

The NEJM paper goes on to reveal that there is currently no dedicated funding stream for post-approval vaccine safety studies in the U.S. The authors write: “Although the ACIP [Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices] acknowledges the need, there are currently no resources earmarked for postauthorization safety studies beyond annual appropriations, which must be approved by Congress each year.”6

This lack of consistent, dedicated funding is one reason why many important safety questions remain unanswered years or even decades after vaccines have been introduced. The authors admit that “Progress in vaccine-safety science has understandably been slow,” citing delayed epidemiological evidence and incomplete understanding of biological mechanisms as key factors.7 But as Siri notes:8

“Shameless to pretend you have not for decades ignored or attacked those calling for these studies while pretending a mountain of such studies showing the foregoing don’t already exist … [and] shameless to pretend parent groups have not been yelling about this [funding] issue for decades only to be ignored and attacked.”

‘Not Enough Evidence’ to Determine if 76% of Vaccine-Related Health Outcomes Are Linked to Shots

In a particularly revealing passage, the paper states, “In 234 reviews of various vaccines and health outcomes conducted from 1991 to 2012, the IOM found inadequate evidence to prove or disprove causation in 179 (76%) of the relationships it explored, illustrating the need for more rigorous science.”9

This statistic is astounding — for over three-quarters of vaccine-related health outcomes examined by the Institute of Medicine (now the National Academy of Medicine), there was not enough evidence to determine whether vaccines were causally linked or not. This flies in the face of repeated assurances that vaccine safety is settled science.

The paper also notes that even for known adverse reactions to vaccines, the biological mechanisms are not understood. This includes serious conditions like Guillain-Barré syndrome associated with influenza vaccines and myocarditis linked to mRNA COVID-19 shots.

Experts have long been calling for unbiased research in understanding the impact of vaccinations on children’s health, but the reality is that public health agencies and vaccine proponents have not been interested in learning the truth. Siri writes:10

“If they are really interested in the truth about what injuries vaccines cause and the rate at which these injuries occur, then they should welcome convening a bipartisan panel which could first review all the very concerning studies and hard data that already exists on this topic (often by scientists not on pharma’s dole) and we could design additional studies together and have them run in the open so everybody has to live with the result.

… Plotkin and company should welcome studies which can show vaccines have not contributed to the rise in chronic childhood disease (many of which are immune mediated diseases) from 12% of children in the early 1980s (when CDC recommended 7 routine childhood injections) to over 50% of children now (when CDC recommends over 90 routine childhood injections).

And I think they do welcome such studies if they can assure that the outcome would show vaccines do not cause these harms. Alas, the reality is that (as they know) studies showing vaccines contribute to this rise already exist. But their goal, in any event, is not to really study safety. Rather it is to prove their prior assumption that vaccines are safe and harms are ‘rare.'”

Plotkin and his co-authors, while acknowledging significant gaps in vaccine safety science, propose increased funding by tapping into the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) trust fund. They note that this fund, generated by an excise tax on vaccines, has a surplus of $4.3 billion as of April 2023.11

However, it’s important to note the authors’ stated motivations for proposing these changes. They express concern about “widespread vaccine hesitancy” and argue that slow progress in vaccine safety science has “adversely affected vaccine acceptance.” In other words, their primary goal is increasing public confidence in vaccines — not critically examining safety issues with an open mind.

Failure to Admit Decades of Lies, Gaslighting and Fraud

Siri notes that the admissions in the NEJM paper directly contradict decades of assurances from the medical establishment. He writes:12

“For decades, the medical community insisted vaccines are the most thoroughly studied product ever; for example, Dr. Paul Offit said, ‘I think we should be proud of vaccines as arguably the safest, best tested things we put in our body.'”

But, Siri argues, parents of vaccine-injured children and others who raised concerns about inadequate safety studies were “shunned and attacked by the medical community and health agencies” for years. The paper is a belated acknowledgment of what these advocates have been saying all along, albeit with dubious motives behind it:13

“Plotkin and his disciples realize they can’t cast voodoo on the public. They can’t hide the truth. So, their only option is to try and co-op the truth they have lied about for decades by now admitting that the studies to show vaccines are safe do not exist.

But in making that admission, they conveniently fail to admit that for decades they lied, gaslit, defrauded (and I don’t use that word lightly) the public by claiming that vaccines are probably the most thoroughly safety tested products on the planet and that people should rest assured, no stone on vaccine safety was left unturned.

… Their real agenda is plain, and it is not to study vaccine safety, but rather to confirm that which they already believe. This is crystal clear from the fact that, while their article admits the studies have not been done, they write in the same breath that serious vaccine harms are ‘rare.’ But if the studies have not been done, how do they know that?”

Siri also points out that the authors ignore existing studies that have found evidence of harm from vaccines or their components.14 He argues that truly unbiased research would need to consider this body of evidence rather than starting from the assumption that serious adverse events are rare.

Study Shows Vaccinated Children Have Higher Rates of Disease

A study conducted by Dr. Paul Thomas and James Lyons-Weiler examined health outcomes in vaccinated and unvaccinated children over a 10-year period within a pediatric practice. Dr. Thomas had his medical license suspended due to his advocacy of informed consent for vaccinations.

The research, published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health,15 found that vaccinated children had higher rates of various health issues compared to unvaccinated children. These included:

Asthma Allergies
Eczema Sinusitis
Gastroenteritis Respiratory infections
Middle ear infection Conjunctivitis
Breathing issues Behavioral issues

Notably, ADHD was observed in a small percentage of vaccinated children but not in any unvaccinated children. The study also reported lower rates of autism spectrum disorder and ADHD in the practice compared to national averages. The authors suggested that unvaccinated children in the practice were at least as healthy as, if not healthier than, their vaccinated counterparts.16

The researchers also emphasized the need for more independent studies on this topic, free from potential conflicts of interest with the vaccine industry, to better understand the relationship between vaccination and children’s health outcomes.

Proposed Solutions Raise Questions About True Motives

For years, those expressing concerns about vaccine safety have been dismissed as “anti-science” or accused of endangering public health. The NEJM paper demonstrates that their core critiques — including regarding inadequate safety studies — were well-founded.

The publication of this paper marks a significant shift in the public discourse around vaccine safety. By admitting to major gaps in safety studies and the slow progress of vaccine safety science, Plotkin and his co-authors have validated concerns that were previously dismissed by much of the medical establishment.

However, the proposed solutions and the authors’ stated motivations raise significant questions about whether this represents a genuine shift toward more critical examination of vaccine safety or merely an attempt to boost failing public confidence. Siri continues:17

“After making the a priori conclusion that harms are ‘rare,’ ignoring all the existing studies showing harm, these folk have the audacity to want to raid the federal vaccine injury compensation fund to presumably pay themselves and their compatriots hundreds of millions of dollars to conduct the studies that would, no doubt, seek to confirm their prior conclusion that vaccine harms are ‘rare,’ while ignoring the studies that already show serious harm.”

What is clear is that the oft-repeated claim that vaccines are “the most thoroughly studied medical intervention” can no longer be credibly made. As this paper demonstrates, there is still much to learn about vaccine safety, and acknowledging this fact is an important step toward informed consent and transparent vaccination policies.
